The older "SLIM" batteries do fit in the APX6000/7000/8000 cases but you will see a gap in front of the case - this is normal and the retention lanyard will maintain downward pressure to counteract the gap***
Made to fit as many battery configurations as possible and the lanyard is used to account for differences in fit. The slim batteries and the tall extended batteries have been "ended life" by Motorola so they are disappearing and being replaced with a fat extended battery (Model #PMNN4547A). This case is upgraded to fit the new battery and so, with use of the lanyard, will be functional now and in the future for those agencies that have not yet updated their batteries.
